Wildcats jump out in 7th for win

HACKETT — Caleb Profitt struck out 15 as the Hector Wildcats jumped ahead of the Hackett Hornets 7-4 in the final inning on Thursday.

With the game tied at two, Profitt singled in the go-ahead run, but Hector wasn’t done. Cody Day doubled in Profitt, Gunnar Garrison doubled in T. Graves and A. Turner, and Ty Day singled in Garrison to put the Wildcats up with plenty of room to breathe.

Hackett managed two more runs before the final out was recorded. In all, Hector tallied 12 runs on the day.

Proffit pitched six innings, allowed two runs on two hits and struck out 15. Day pitched the final inning in relief.
