HECTOR — The Wildcats clinched the 2A-4 Conference title with a 5-3 win over the Danville Little Johns on Friday at Linton Field.
Hector scored a run in the first inning, two in the third, one in the fourth and one in the sixth.
Danville added a run in the second and two in the sixth on three hits.
In the first inning, Cody Day’s groundout scored the first run of the game.
Danville responded with an RBI single from Caleb Escue.
The Wildcats got the go-ahead run in the third when Gunner Garrison hit a two-RBI double.
Day was the winning pitcher.
He went five innings, allowed one run and one hit.
He struck out seven.
Caleb Profitt got the save.
Dalton Reagon was the losing pitcher. He lasted four and a third innings, allowed six hits and four runs.
He struck out nine and walked one.
