COAL HILL — The Hector Lady Wildcats came from behind to defeat the Johnson County Westside Lady Rebels on Friday.
Hector trailed 12-11 after the first quarter but took a 22-21 lead at halftime. The Lady Wildcats fell behind again 32-28 by the end of the third quarter but battled back for the victory.
“We played much harder and really finished the right way in the fourth quarter tonight,” Lady Wildcats head coach Luke McAnulty said. “I’m super proud of the girls and the good start of the conference season by getting our first win in conference play.”
Hector was led in scoring by Evelyn Riley with 12 points. Courtney Barnett scored nine points, while Camron Meeks scored seven points. Molly Haley scored six points. Alyssa Gililland scored five points, and Faith Barnett and Andrea Sears scored four each. The Lady Rebels were led by Gwan Turpin and Allyson Smith with nine points each.

COAL HILL — Austin Bartlett scored 15 points during the Johnson County Westside Rebels 60-32 victory over the Hector Wildcats on Friday inside Rebel Gymnasium. The Rebels led 20-8 after the first quarter and 29-18 at halftime. After the third quarter, Johnson County Westside went up 41-23.
Hector was led by Blake George with seven points. Caleb Proctor scored five points.
Jr. Rebels beat Hector junior boys
COAL HILL — The Johnson County Westside Junior Rebels picked up a 45-31 win over the Hector Junior Wildcats on Friday.
The Rebels were led in scoring by Jaggar Phillips with 21 points. The Junior Wildcats were led by Zeke Stanek with 13 points.
Hector hosts Danville at 5 p.m. today inside the Hector Multi-Purpose building.
