Lady Wildcats get back on track

MOUNTAINBURG -- The Hector Lady Wildcats picked up a 51-31 win over the Mountainburg Lady Dragons on Wednesday.

"Last night's win was a huge conference win for us on the road with the last game before the holiday break," Lady Wildcats head coach Luke McAnulty said. "I'm super proud of how our girls battled on the road. This win hopefully gives us some momentum that will carry over into games after the break."

Hector led 13-3 after the first quarter and 21-16 at halftime. After the third quarter, the Lady Wildcats were up 34-23.

Hector was led in scoring by Courtney Barnett with 15 points. Evelyn Riley scored 14 points. Alyssa Gililland scored six points. Faith Barnett scored five points. Molly Haley and Shelby Hendrix scored four points each. Andrea Sears scored two points.

Mountainburg was led by Madelyn Beasley with 12 points.

Mountainburg SB 58, Hector 32

MOUNTAINBURG -- The Hector Wildcats lost 58-32 to the Mountainburg Dragons.

Hector kept it close for a half. The Wildcats only trailed 15-14 after the first quarter and tied the score 24-24 by halftime. After the third quarter, Mountainburg went up 38-27.

Hector was led in scoring by Caleb Profitt with 10 points. Isaac Stanek scored seven points. Wade Farish scored five points. Deaton Shipley scored four points. Bobby Martin, Gunner Garrison and Aiden Turner scored two points each.

The Dragons were led in scoring by Ethan Gregory with 20 points.

Mountainburg JG 28, Hector 15

MOUNTAINBURG -- The Hector Junior Lady Wildcats lost 28-15 to the Mountainburg Junior Lady Dragons.

Hector was led in scoring by Josie Taylor with eight points. Brooke Smedley scored three points. Sydni Collins and Hallie Mosley scored two points each.

Hector faces Lamar next on Jan. 3 with games beginning at 4 p.m.
