Wildcats pick up huge wins from Lavaca, Magazine

LAVACA — The Hector Wildcats collected 19 hits as they dominated the Lavaca Golden Arrows 17-4 on Monday.

Hector scored two runs in the first inning, six in the third and — as if that wasn’t enough — added nine more runs before the end of the seventh inning.

Lavaca’s only offense came in the fourth with four runs.

Caleb Profitt helped spark the Wildcats offensively. He singled in the first, tripled in the third and singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

In the third inning, Hector added six runs with RBIs from Cody Day, Ty Day, Brenden Landrum and Allen Farish.

Gunner Garrison was the winning pitcher. He gave up four runs on five hits over three and a third innings. Ty Day and Wade Farish pitched in relief.

HECTOR — The Wildcats celebrated Senior Night with a quick, three-inning baseball victory over the Magazine Rattlers on Thursday.

Hector boomed in 10 runs in the first then added four in the second and third innings on 14 hits to end the game early.

Cody Day was the winning pitcher. He pitched two innings, allowed one hit and no runs. He struck out six and walked none.
